Shamplina to address landlords at two-council seminar

TV and celebrity landlord adviser Paul Shamplina is to appear at an event run by two local authorities.

Hull council and East Riding of Yorkshire council are hosting a free seminar for local landlords and agents on the impact of the Renters Rights Bill.

The event is in Beverley on October 9 and will feature Shamplina, founder of Landlord Action and star of Channel 5 series ‘Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords.’

Additional speakers will cover enforcement expectations, damp and mould investigations, selecting competent contractors, eco4, and preparing for the new legislation.

Spokespeople from the councils say: “It is important that landlords have the right information to be able to carry out their statutory duties in the correct way, so it’s good that our councils can come together to offer this seminar. This is all ultimately about ensuring that tenants in our area are treated fairly by responsible landlords – who I urge to take up this offer of help to deal with the new rules that are coming.

“It is essential that landlords exercise responsible property management, and we’re keen to support them to adapt to changing legislation. I encourage interested landlords to apply for tickets and attend this event next month.”
