London Labour council renews its HMO licensing regime

Another Labour-controlled London council is going out to consultation on HMO licensing.

Camden claims it’s reviewing its current licensing scheme. Launched in 2015, the scheme is reviewed every five years.

A consultation is now open for residents, tenants, landlords, agents, businesses and service providers in Camden and the surrounding areas to share their views and help shape the future of HMO licensing in the borough.

A spokesperson for the council says:Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. With over a third of households in Camden privately renting, it’s crucial that these homes meet the highest standard of safety and management for our residents.”

The consultation closes at midnight on Tuesday April 8.
