An all-in-one rental app made for small landlords has been named winner of Real Estate Mobile App of the Year in the annual PropTech Breakthrough Awards.
The app – called August – is built for the landlord who manages one or two properties alongside a job, which means the property work rarely happens at a desk.
That platform brings rent tracking through regulated open banking, compliance dashboard with automated reminders, document management, maintenance reporting, expenses tracking and in-app messaging with tenants into a single place.
August Intelligence, the platform’s AI property assistant, answers landlord questions using the context of their own portfolio. The app is also recognised by HMRC for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, so quarterly submissions can be prepared and filed easily.
The PropTech Breakthrough Awards are run by Tech Breakthrough, an independent market intelligence organisation that has operated recognition programmes across competitive technology sectors since 2014.
The property programme evaluates companies and products across the full breadth of real estate technology, from property management platforms and smart building systems to artificial intelligence, transaction tools and financing.
Entries are assessed by an independent panel against innovation, performance, user experience, functionality, market impact and value.
The programme draws entries from more than a dozen countries each year and covers everything from early-stage startups through to established global operators.
